Hello, Does gcsu have a username and password for articles in sciencedirect.com?

Answer

The library does not have a subscription to ScienceDirect as a whole, or any Science Direct subject collections. The library does however have individual online subscriptions from Elsevier that we access on the Science Direct platform. The database “Science Direct (Elsevier Journals)” is listed in our GALILEO database menu or directly at http://www.galileo.usg.edu/express?link=scnh-geo1

We do not have a user name and password, but the link above should take you directly to the front door of the platform, where you can log in with your MyGCSU credentials if off campus.

Also, you may access citations and abstracts of articles that we do not have access to on the Science Direct platform.  If you find an article of interest, use the "Find It @ GALILEO" link to determine whether the library has access to the full-text in another database.  If you are still unable to located the full-text, use the "GCSU Interlibrary Loan" option to request the item from another library.  Interlibrary loan is a free service for GCSU faculty, staff and students.

If you are seeking a particular journal, the Journal Locator is available to assist you in determining whether the library has access to it and the time period covered in our subscription/access.  See the link below to access the journal locator.
